Coach sanchez honored with 2025 Randy Walker Doing Great Award

This summer, Barrington High School’s head football coach, Joe Sanchez, was honored with the 2025 Randy Walker Doing Great Award.

This prestigious award, named after the late Northwestern University head coach, celebrates not only athletic achievement but also the character, leadership, and positivity that Coach Sanchez exemplifies every day.

The Randy Walker Legacy Foundation presents this award to a coach who embodies:

• A winning tradition that extends beyond the scoreboard, fostering growth in both athletics and academics.

• The role of mentor and role model, encouraging student-athletes to value academic success alongside athletic development.

• The core values of effort, attitude, discipline, and dedication.

• A deep commitment to giving back to the community and leading by example.

As Coach Walker once said, “Treat each player like you would want your own son to be treated.” Coach Sanchez lives by this philosophy—and in doing so, he inspires all of us to do the same.
